What we are covering
Two halves of the same problem. Richweb takes the technical side: the attacks that actually land on small businesses right now, the controls that stop most of them, and which of those you can put in place without a security budget or a full-time IT department. GHT takes the insurance side: what a cyber policy covers, what it does not, and the questions carriers ask before they write one.
Those two conversations usually happen a year apart, in separate rooms, and that is where small businesses get caught out. A policy can be written on answers your environment does not support, and a claim is a bad time to find that out. Putting both sides in the same room for an hour is the point of the event.
Who it is for
Owners, operators, and office managers at small businesses in the greater Richmond area. You do not need a technical background, and you do not need to bring anything. If you have been meaning to get to cybersecurity and it keeps sliding to next quarter, this is a low-cost hour to start with.
